1. How far back can you trace your family tree?
I can trace my mom's side to my great-grandmother/father. I don't know much about my dad's side.

2. What is the most interesting (or strange) thing you've heard about one of your relatives?
My dad's little brother is one of the awesomest/coolest/wisest guy I know. He's just...dang.

3. How do you feel about legacy names like John Henry Smith IV or naming children after other relatives?
*shrug* My dad's generation's men have the first syllable "So" in front of them. Except for my dad...weird.

4. Would you consider yourself and/or your family to be traditional?
I don't know. We're a mixture of American traditional and Chinese traditional. We see our dead family members and do the ceremonies but we have reunions and stuff.

5. What is one tradition you have passed on to your children and/or plan to pass on to them?
*shrug* We're not really full of traditions. Hopefully I won't have any children to pass them down to.

To-do:

- Catch up on reading for Exceptional Children
- Midterm for philosophy.
- Journals for music ed.

- While all my in-state friends were home having a little reunion without me for the Columbus Day weekend, I was here watching the corn grow.
- I have a lot of reading I need to catch up on for K205.
- I got a $5 gift certificate to a local cafe.
- I think I'm going to be teaching in Beijing this summer. Mmm...roots.
- We're playing Prokofiev 6 in orchestra -- AMAZING.
- November is coming soon. Which means Thanksgiving is coming soon. Which means I'll get to go home.
- Everyone here is better than I am.

- In short, college is depressing. Except for the China thing...that's really cool.

( *sigh* )

Goals for the weekend:

- Clean up desk area
- Make up for lost practicing time.
- Get less sick.
- Spend many hours in the music library; finish all character themes, add second harmony parts to all themes.
- Read the next chapter due for K205.
- Actually read Fear and Trembling that was already due.

Productivity...what?

...because I anticipated staying up really fucking late to do work. But I finished within 5 minutes of the coffee. Turns out that I can get a lot done when I'm focused.
